Heartistry Weekend
for Couples
June 6-8, 2025
Men and women from many nations have enjoyed Lyn’s creative retreats focussed around hospitality and generous living: from Hawaii to Cape Town to the South of France… and now in Tennessee!
You are invited to join us, Brett and Lyn Johnson, and a small group of couples (5) for a Paradise Meadows Heartistry Couples Retreat! The purpose of the Heartistry Retreat is to provide:
An opportunity to learn about the essential Biblical practice of true hospitality.
Teaching times when Lyn will lead discussions on both the foundational truths and practical skills to create a welcoming home.
A “prepared place” where couples can be surrounded by beauty, order and creativity.
A “set apart” time to slow down, relax and be refreshed.
A community of like-minded couples who will listen, share and discover together how to implement these truths.
Where will the Retreat be?
We will gather at our property in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, just 30 minutes from Chattanooga. We will host this weekend in our Scandinavian style Farmhouse that sits on two acres of meadows and woods, adjacent to a 40 acre farm.
Meals will be served at the Farmhouse and also in our own home, a five minute walk away.
Five couples can be accommodated in our adorable, retro Tiny House, the art-filled bedrooms of our Farmhouse and in our glamping tent. Guests who register first will be able to select their choice of accommodation.
What recent attendees said:
I've been to many retreats and conferences in my life, but have never heard the teachings that we received at Heartistry. It hit an area in all the guests that was tremendously underserved by the church. In order to become better at “being the church”, I encourage you to attend a Heartistry weekend.
My husband and I have absolutely loved being part of the Heartistry Course. We highly recommend couples sharing this course because hospitality is teamwork, making people feel welcome, comfortable and happy.
We have been impacted and deeply blessed by the deposit you’ve made into our lives this weekend.
I felt God’s presence and left rested, welcomed.
I was impacted by the knowledge transfer from the content to the stories shared. There was a gap in the impartation from my mother and father leading up to my adult years. It was a blessing to me to be taught these truths so I can impact future generations.
Come with an open heart, and you will walk away with joy, gratitude, restfulness, imagination and vision.
It's a weekend to get out of your routine and have a spiritual and lighthearted getaway. We had fun and were ministered to.
An amazing way to learn and be lavished upon by God.
The retreat has been designed with quiet times for couples to process the truths together and opportunities for sharing with the other attendees.
For these two days, you won’t have to plan, cook, clean or even think about what needs to be done next. All you’ll need to decide is where you’ll snuggle up with your tea to read, journal and chat with your spouse for the next couple of hours!
This will be the perfect opportunity to get a vision for your family as you seek to live with an open heart and open home.

Lyn has practiced hospitality since she and her twin sister, Michelle, filled their parents’ home with many teen friends. Lyn makes it known that she doesn't like to cook, yet over her 44 years of marriage Lyn and her family have hosted countless people for cups of tea, home cooked meals and as staying guests (some who have come for a short visit and then stayed for years!)
Lyn leads a busy life. For 21 years, she led a direct sales business with a team of over 1,800 women. Now she manages unique properties that are available for rent, while partnering with her husband, Brett, in their business, The Institute. She loves to inspire others to integrate hospitality into the everyday, even when life is full through her business Heartistry.
Lyn has been teaching on Hospitality for over 40 years both locally and internationally, and has much wisdom and many practical ideas to share. She has led 6 week-long Heartistry Experiences in the South of France and one in Cape Town. She candidly shares her own story with humor and passion, laced with many helpful tips to inspire us to “bless not impress” as we open our hearts and homes.
