How to use the Hot Tub:

Filling the Tub

1.     There are three long hoses that must be connected to reach the tub. They’re spread out between the faucet at the side of the Farmhouse and the hot tub. Connect the hoses.

2.     Take the cover off the tub. Take the candles, candle holder, paddle etc. out of the tub.

3.     Put the chimney in place

4.     With the outlet pipe open, rinse the tub to give it a quick clean. Close the outlet a ¼ turn.

5.     Fill the tub. The filling process will take 90 minutes.

6.     SET YOUR ALARM FOR 80 MINUTES SO THAT THE TUB DOES NOT GET TOO FULL.

7.     Once the water is an inch over the heat exchange you may start the fire.

Heating the Tub

1.     Fill the tub with water until it surrounds the chimney. See above.

2.     Place the black bubble blanket on the water surface. This will ensure a quicker heating time.

3.     Place a burning piece of fire starter at the bottom of the stove directly beneath the lid. The fire starter blocks are in a glass jar. Add some pinecones on top of the fire starter or small sticks.

4.     Stack dry, chopped wood on top of the fire starter and place larger pieces of wood on top of this. Smaller pieces will burn more readily at the start of the heating process.

5.     Place the lid back on the stove, leaving the air intake open.

6.     After about 5 minutes there’ll be a big fire going with the heating process in full swing.

7.     Add some more chopped, dry wood and stoke the fire every 15-20 minutes.

8.     For better results, the water can be stirred after every stoking.

9.     Heating time is about an hour to an hour and 45 minutes (depending on the starting temperature of the water.)

10.  Please do not touch chimney, the top part of the stove that is above water level or the top of the lid with your bare hands. Although they’re double layered, they get hot.

11.  Remove the cover when the water is at a desired temperature and close the air intake to choke the fire. The temperature will keep rising if you keep the air intake open!

12.  Place the cover back at nighttime, to enjoy your wood-fired hot tub the next morning.

13.  You can happily use the same water during your stay. No need to empty and refill.

14.  Protection cover:  Begin by placing the protection cover over the tub. Ensure that the cover fully covers the tub and is in the correct position. Insert the support pole underneath the cover into the hole provided on the cover. Close the zippers. Make sure the strap is securely attached to the buckle provided. Examine the strap that runs through the edge of the cover. Ensure that it is properly aligned and secure within the groove of the tub. This is important for a snug fit. Once everything is in place, start tightening the cover using the strap and ratchet provided. While tightening, make sure that the strap remains within the groove of the tub. Continue to tighten until the cover is securely held in place. Double-check that the cover is securely fastened and that there are no loose or slack areas. The cover should be snugly fitted over the tub. If you need to access the oven to light a fire, you can unzip the cover on the oven’s side.

Before you leave the Farmhouse

1.     Replace the cover on the hot tub securely. Our team will empty and clean the hot tub.
